This cartoon made us laugh. “Solar and Wind isn’t feasible” … Ha! We beg to differ. Other countries are investing in renewable energy and it is paying off,not only in the environment but also financially.
Why Shouldn’t South Africa benefit from it? Why can’t we?
It is true the initial purchase is expensive, but if you look at the cost in the long run,electricity cost will only keep rising. So although the purchase is expensive, you will save in the future. In a few years instead of paying electrical bills, your putting that money away in your savings account.
If you use the same argument as to why people are buying a house instead of renting, you will see the logic in rather “Buying Solar energy” than “renting” it from local municipality.
With the banks in South Africa so keen to finance such a system. Buying a Solar system seems like a true hassle free investment.
